Jill Hutchison introduced IWU Women's Basketball Head Coach, Mia Smith, and ISU Women's Basketball Head Coach, Kristen Gillespie.
The Illinois State Women's Basketball Team has 8 new players this year. They started out the season well, with a win at Northwestern, and are currently 2-1. The Redbirds have a big game coming up this week against Harvard.
Kristen and her staff recruit students with high character and morals. The Redbirds staff focus on the following qualities:
- Passion and energy
- Unity
- Effort
- Gratitude
- Service
The Illinois Wesleyan Women's Basketball Team is a very strong team this year, and is a team that is positive, happy, and work hard. Lauren Hubert is a preseason All-American, and the Titans currently have an 8-person rotation with a high pace. You can expect a lot of 3-point shots, full court pressure, and quick transitions.
The Titans currently do not have a player from Bloomington-Normal, but with the IWU McLean County Scholarship, they are recruiting the area very hard as BN is a hotbed for women's basketball.
