Mike Laffey introduced Leni Kuntz, Chief of Staff for Lifelong Access. Leni provided a tour of The Gregg Chadwick Lifelong Access Pediatric Therapy Center and talked about the services provided there. Following the tour, Leni shared information about Lifelong Access and the services they provide.
Originally founded in 1955 as MARC and then Marcfirst, they changed their name to Lifelong Access in 2023 to better encompass their vision of a community where children, teens and adults receive holistic support through a lifetime of meaningful services.
Lifelong Access provides a range of services including applied behavior analysis therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, early intervention, family support groups, aquatic therapy, behavioral health clinics, IEP meetings, high school transition club, school to work programs, supported employment, community day services, supportive living, wellness programs, access to community together program, and many more. Some of the challenges facing the adult population on Illinois include an average 5-10 year wait for disability support services and approximately 17,000 adults awaiting evaluation for disability support.
Lifelong Access is moving forward with planned expansions in both the Peoria area and Downtown Bloomington. Scott Seibring: We're signed up to work concessions at Grossinger Motors Arena for the IHSA Dance competition on Saturday, February 1st. A sign-up sheet will be coming out soon with available shifts.
Next week's meeting will be held at Heartland Community College in the Community Commons Building Gregg Chadwick Community Board Room (1406/1407). Following our regular meeting, a tour of the Advanced Manufacturing Center will be offered at 1pm.
