Mark Wylie introduced Catherine Metzger, McLean County Board Chair. She has served on the Board for 9 years and as the Chair since 2023. Catherine shared information about the County Board and its responsibilities.
McLean County is the largest county by land in the State of Illinois.
The County Board is comprised of 20 members serving 10 districts. Each district includes approximately 17,000 voters.
Districts 1,2 & 3 are rural districts, districts 4, 5 & 6 are in Normal and districts 7, 8, 9 & 10 are in Bloomington.
Goals for the County include to lead the national and statewide effort for rural broadband coverage, increase energy efficiencies within county buildings, support the Bloomington-Normal Water Reclamation District's expansion efforts, and continue to grow services and availability of behavioral health providers.
Bob Starckovich: IWU Circle K will be hosting their annual Trivia Night on April 14th. More details will be available soon if you're able to attend and help support their event.
Cathy Oloffson: For the first time in our Club's history, we'll be hosting a bracket competition (bragging rights only!) for both the men's and women's tournament. An email from Cathy was sent out with links to the brackets. Fill out your brackets online by Wednesday (3/20) at midnight. And just a reminder, bring your happy dollars to brag about your bracket standings!
